Quilted Duffel Bag

Hello everyone, hope your having a wonderful day. Today, I made a my first ever, quilted duffel bag. It even has a zipper lol 😉 in which I’m usually not a big fan of those. Anyway, it’s the perfect size to shove under your seat on an airplane. In which, I’m sure you figured out by now, is exactly why I made it. Next month I will be traveling to visit my family in Florida, WOHOO! Unfortunately, now a days, on most airlines, you have to pay to bring an over head carry-on. UGH what a pain, so I made a duffel bag that is big enough to stick under my seat. Plus, it’s so much cuter than most duffel bags I’ve found in the stores!! Hee Hee gotta travel in style don’t cha know. 😉

Hmm, well that about wraps this up, I most likely will be making another one soon for Bella, this way we both can have a pretty good sized bag that won’t cost me EXTRA lol.

Thanks for reading, talk to you all again soon,

Christina

P.S. Again I’m a bad photographer, the bag looks all lumpy lol I guess I didn’t stuff it that well haha, and everything on it is even!

School Bag Project with my Sister

Greetings from Florida!!! So, as promised, I’m still sewing and updating you on my projects, while here in sunny Florida.

Well, the plane ride was great – amazingly enough, my two year old slept the whole trip! It took lots of the stress off me, even though I packed a caboodle of things to entertain her. 😉 Plus, I think she caught a stomach bug on the plane. Poor baby was up vomiting the second night we were here, and now has the runs…ICK! Oh well, what can you do – you could never tell she wasn’t feeling well though. She’s eating, singing, playing, and running around all over the place lol. And YES we are having the time of our lives with my family. We’re staying home a lot, but Bella is finally warming up to my parents. She’s so cute running around asking “NUNA”, aka my mom, for treats and to play.

Anyhoo, now to the main topic of this post. I’ve been giving my little sister Jasmin sewing lessons, and I know usually you start off with simpler things, but we didn’t. We made a Messenger style school bag together. Well, to be technical, she did most of the work. The only thing I did was assemble the lining and the exterior together. Oh, and attach the flap…that’s it! I was completely amazed at how thorough her work was. Honestly, when I was teaching her how to sew the darts on the corners, she did them PERFECT! It took me at least 3 times to sew a straight line and line up the fabric right. I can’t believe she is such a fast learner, and after the first few stiches she turned up the speed on the foot to sew faster! Ha ha WOW!!!

So, yeah, that has been my adventure so far – hope you enjoyed and, as always, thanks for reading.

Notions Traveling Case!

So I’m super excited about this post!! In exactly four days I will be traveling to Florida to visit my family for a whole MONTH, WooHoo!! Anyway, I’m going to be bringing my sewing machine, along with a bunch of other fun stuff to work on and with my mom and sister, as well as give a few lessons. However, in the shuffle of gathering together things to pack, I realized, I don’t really have a case for my sewing notions. 😦

In my search to try and fix this dilemma, I remembered the blog Olivia Jane Handcrafted that I follow. In a one of her posts, she shared a “Good Folks Notions Notebook”. This was an absolutely BRILLIANT idea, it’s so perfect for traveling and/or just to have to keep your sewing notions organized. So graciously, she let me use her idea, and make one for myself. It turned out  so awesome, perfect, and it’s just what I needed! Be sure to check out her blog, and on it, there’s a link to her ETSY shop, where she has some pretty amazing stuff  there too.

SOOO yeah, that’s it for today, I have lots of cleaning and packing to do for my trip. Oh… I promise I will still blog while I’m in Florida!

Thanks to reading

XO Christina

P.S. Again my photography is horrific, the book is actually a straight rectangle shape, perhaps I should have take the stuff out before I photographed the exterior lol…oops 😦

I machine embroidered some of the flowers….that was really fun!

Back from a wonderful Vacation!!

Hello, I’m back!! My vacation was so wonderful and as always, time went by just way too fast. As promised, I took some photos of the beach and posted them for you. Unfortunately, with the change of climates and long travel, I have come down with a horrible sinus infection and head cold…ick. So please forgive me in advace, I will be catching up on some much needed R&R for a few days. Thanks so much for reading!

Vacation time!!!!

Hello, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to post up any more photos lately. Honestly, I’ve been so busy cleaning my house and packing, I’ve hardly had time to think!  We leave later today to drive down to Florida, I’m so over due for a vacation, I miss my family so much.  I don’t know if I ever told you guys, but, Ii from florida, and moved here, to PA, when I got married. So I’m not used to being away from my family for very long. Not to mention, I am the second oldest of seven kids, so sometimes I feel a bit out of place. However, I will say I love PA, the weather is a nice change from hot and humid all year long lol. 🙂

Anyway, I will be gone for about a week, so if I don’t blog for a while I’m sorry. I promise if I can catch a few minutes I will try and keep you updated.

Thanks for reading, by the way, this is a photo I took last time I visited Florida, I’m so excited to take another one and share with you soon!

The Last Annabelle Bag

Good afternoon, I hope this friday has been good to you. I have finished making the last Annabelle bag, for the shop in Florida. Now I just have to come up with another bag design with three more purses and then I will be set!! I might just make three totally different purses so that there is more of a variety!

Well I hope you all have a very blessed, and absolutely wonderful day! I’m off to take a nap with my little one. 🙂 Nothing like cuddling together, on mommy’s big bed, for a nice long nap. Hee hee,  yes I spoil her so much. But hey she’s gonna grow too fast and then I won’t get the chance to do this anymore.

Thanks for reading, talk to you all again soon!
