Made a New Purse for Me!!!

Hi guys, sorry it’s been a while since my last post. Just a brief update, unfortunately we went through a miscarriage this June. Yes it was a sad time, it was difficult, but thankfully everything turned out OK.thankfully I got lucky, I didn’t actually miss carry a baby. I ended up having a blighted over, which means, the egg was fertilized and attached to my uterine wall, but no baby actually grew. So they ended up calling it an early miscarriage. But, my health and everything is going good sorts, and we are currently able to try for another baby. So if you get a chance, prayers would be appreciated for this next adventure that we are going through.

Now enough sad talk, let’s get to my purse!! Usually every year on my birthday I get a new vera Bradley Crossbody bag, however,  this year, I decided to make myself a new purse. I’ve had some vinyl fabric sitting around collecting dust in my fabric drawers for the past couple years. So, this year I decided to make this awesome bag. My favorite part about it is the peacock feather, of course, because as you know, I’m completely obsessed with peacocks ha ha.

Ok enough of my jibber jabber, here’s some pics for ya, let me know what you think!!

Talk again soon,

Busy Book for Christmas….

Hi there, so I wanted to share with you the busy Busy Book I just finished for my best friend Cynthia’s daughter. She called me a while ago and asked me to make one for her daughter for Christmas. Well, I know I’m early, but you know me, once I start a project I have to finish it. 🙂 SO, here are some pics of it. My daughter Bella was by my side, “testing the product” as I was finishing each page lol. She of corse asked me to make her another busy book with some of the features in this one, especially the potatoe head page.

So for those of you who have seen my previous blog posts, about a year ago I made one for Bella. Here’s a link to the post. “Cloth Busy Book”. Well, I’m sure you can see I made this one a little different. Honestly, this one is made way better!! Instead of hot glueing everything together, except the pages, I’ve sewn all the pieces/pages. It’s so much more sturdy and will hold up longer. At first I wasn’t really looking forward to changing thread colors, but then I remembered I had clear thread, so I just used that for the entire book! It actually was a lot easier to sew everything then to hot glue it. Saved me time and the pain of burning my fingers on tiny pieces of felt. 😉

All in all, I had a blast making it, and I’m pretty sure I will be making more. Well, I know I have to make one for Bella at least. I’m thinking I’m going add a noah’s ark page, and Jonah and the whale, maybe a brush your teeth page. I don’t know, I’ll figure it out, however, I do know that I will definitely be making one in the same manner as I made this one. NOT the kind I made for Bella originally, sheesh that one was a pain in the neck!

Well, that’s it for today, thanks for reading, hope you have a wonderful Saturday!!

Cloth Busy Book!!!

Here it is!!!! The “mystery” project I’ve been working on for Bella! Unfortunately, she has to wait until Christmas to get it lol. But that’s ok, thankfully she doesn’t know what she’s missing tee hee. Anyway, I finished her cloth busy book sooner than expected, I just couldn’t stop, I think I was having way to much fun making it. 😉 So yea, it was actually pretty easy to make, just very time consuming. Lots of small details, and pieces to put together. Overall, I think it came out just awesome, it’s actually pretty durable too! I hot glued all the felt pieces together, but the pages are sewn, and made of fabric.

Well enough of my jibber jabber, I have lots of photos and I even made a little video of it for you guys! Hope you enjoy looking/watching, and as always, thanks for reading. Talk to you all again soon!

Fluer De Lis Pillows and Spring Allergies

Hi again, of corse, I have been going crazy over these pillow covers. I finished a couple more sets, this time hand-painted/stenciled a fluer de lis on one. It’s so pretty, funny though, I never really knew what this particular design was called. I actually had to look it up online in order for me to describe the pillows in my etsy shop lol. 🙂

Ugh, my allergies have been going crazy with this weather, ick. Pennsylvania weather is so odd, one day it’s 30° the next it’s 60°. Sheesh, no wonder I sound like a frog right now, supposedly the weather is looking warmer now. I’m just praying it stays this way, no more cold!!

Anyway, off to bed I go, thanks for reading, and have an awesome day!

Progress on the Diaper bag

So I have finished making the outer shell of the diaper bag. It’s turning out just beautiful so far, a very rewarding project. I’m super anxious to get it finished, so this post is going to be short and sweet. Just wanted to show you a couple photos of it so far. And yes I know the bag looks a bit uneven, I assure you, it’s just because it has no “insides” yet lol. 😉

Hope your having a great friday!!

This is the back pocket that’s for the changing pad!

Another fabric wallet

Hi again, hope you all have been doing well. So I made yet another fabric wallet, this one is not as detailed as the first. I made it more to help work on my skills of adding binding for a finished look. Blah…it turned out horribly. The base of the wallet is fine, that patchwork, great, but the binding, ugh I failed miserably. I honestly don’t think it could have gone any worse.

Anyway, I still have lots of practice to do, so I will talk to you all again soon.

Thanks for reading

Christina

Ok this next photo I’m very ashamed of, as you can see the binding was a stinking nightmare!!
