New Summer Dresses for Bella

Over the past few days I’ve been sewing like crazy, I decided to make Bella some spring/summer dresses! They came out so good, in all honesty, I’ve had a few people ask me where I bought them. In which I replied with, of corse, I made them! Haha Bella is a great little model too! Such a proud momma I am, although, my little girl dresses better than me! 😉 What makes it even better, is that Bella gets super excited when I make her a new dress. She puts it on and twirls around in a big circle saying, “look mommy, look so pretty!” Hee hee so adorable!

This is a tunic dress pattern I used from the book, “One Yard Wonders” there’s a link there to it on Amazon!

I ended up having to shorten the elastic in the band in the back. Bella is so thin, that the length of the elastic the pattern calls for, well I had to cut it almost in half. Thankfully, it didn’t end up looking like a bunched up mess. IMG_0360

This one is my favorite, aside from her incredibly, adorable, cheesy grin, I actually made this one without a pattern. It took some time getting the measurements right and all that, but in the end it was well worth it! It’s just your classic little girl dress, or that’s what I call it. Also, not sure if you recognize the fabric, but I used this in a wallet and purse I made. Here is a blog link to see the wallet, I guess I never took a photo of the purse, so I posted a photo of it at the end of this blog…“My First Vinyl Women’s Wallet”.

I know it’s grainy, but I put a loop and button closure on the top of it. This is the first time I’ve ever incorporated this in a dress. Makes it easy to pull on and off with out killing  your self haha ;).

Here is the purse I made, it’s actually a clutch sized messenger bag. I thought I blogged about it in the past but I must not have, hmm if you find it let me know!

Well that’s it for today, thanks for reading.

School Bag Project with my Sister

Greetings from Florida!!! So, as promised, I’m still sewing and updating you on my projects, while here in sunny Florida.

Well, the plane ride was great – amazingly enough, my two year old slept the whole trip! It took lots of the stress off me, even though I packed a caboodle of things to entertain her. 😉 Plus, I think she caught a stomach bug on the plane. Poor baby was up vomiting the second night we were here, and now has the runs…ICK! Oh well, what can you do – you could never tell she wasn’t feeling well though. She’s eating, singing, playing, and running around all over the place lol. And YES we are having the time of our lives with my family. We’re staying home a lot, but Bella is finally warming up to my parents. She’s so cute running around asking “NUNA”, aka my mom, for treats and to play.

Anyhoo, now to the main topic of this post. I’ve been giving my little sister Jasmin sewing lessons, and I know usually you start off with simpler things, but we didn’t. We made a Messenger style school bag together. Well, to be technical, she did most of the work. The only thing I did was assemble the lining and the exterior together. Oh, and attach the flap…that’s it! I was completely amazed at how thorough her work was. Honestly, when I was teaching her how to sew the darts on the corners, she did them PERFECT! It took me at least 3 times to sew a straight line and line up the fabric right. I can’t believe she is such a fast learner, and after the first few stiches she turned up the speed on the foot to sew faster! Ha ha WOW!!!

So, yeah, that has been my adventure so far – hope you enjoyed and, as always, thanks for reading.

XOXO Chrissy

Craziness and a BAG

Hi all, so this weekend has proved itself officially insane! For starters, my daughter has come down with the flu, so that’s a menace in itself. Then having to perform a full grocery shop in less then an hour, and on a sunday for that matter. Oh, I forgot to mention running down a hill to my front door, while the wind and pouring rain are doing everything they can to make me slip and fall on my rump, with a dozen grocery bags in my hands. Whew, thankfully all that craziness is over and I was able to sit and relax a little bit.

Enough of my drama filled weekend…I finished the other Annabelle Bag I was telling you about. It’s identical to the first one, except that I added a little bit of a longer strap, this way, it can me used as a small messenger bag, and I added a flower corsage to the front of it. Hope you like it.

Talk to you all again soon.

XO Christina

P.S. My apologies for the poorness in photo quality, I was forced to stay indoors due to the rainy, gloomy day. 😦

Messenger bag with adjustable strap!

hi guys, so I finished the messenger bag, and I added an adjustable strap to it. This was a fun project, took a little longer then I expected though. So anyway, I think I may make a few of these for my shop too. Messenger bags seem to be very popular these days. Gotta make whats in demand if I want my business to prosper!! 🙂

So hope your weekend is going great, until next time

quick update…

Hello friends, hope your monday is going good. I know, for some reason, monday’s always seem to be a hard day to get motivated lol.

Anyway, right now I am working on a messenger bag for someone. It’s going to be out of the same fabric as the blue and brown buttercup bag I made.

Sorry I won’t be posting any pictures, trying to get busy with this project while juggling my almost two year old, while figuring out what to get my husband for Valentine’s day. 🙂 what a joy!!! Talk to you all next time
