Hi guys, sorry it’s been a while since my last post. Just a brief update, unfortunately we went through a miscarriage this June. Yes it was a sad time, it was difficult, but thankfully everything turned out OK.thankfully I got lucky, I didn’t actually miss carry a baby. I ended up having a blighted over, which means, the egg was fertilized and attached to my uterine wall, but no baby actually grew. So they ended up calling it an early miscarriage. But, my health and everything is going good sorts, and we are currently able to try for another baby. So if you get a chance, prayers would be appreciated for this next adventure that we are going through.
Now enough sad talk, let’s get to my purse!! Usually every year on my birthday I get a new vera Bradley Crossbody bag, however, this year, I decided to make myself a new purse. I’ve had some vinyl fabric sitting around collecting dust in my fabric drawers for the past couple years. So, this year I decided to make this awesome bag. My favorite part about it is the peacock feather, of course, because as you know, I’m completely obsessed with peacocks ha ha.
Ok enough of my jibber jabber, here’s some pics for ya, let me know what you think!!
Hello again, as you know we are leaving for vacation in a few days…WOOHOO!! And as I was gathering suitcases, I realized that my daughter Bella doesn’t have one. So what better excuse then to make her a travel bag! Hee hee, I made the same type of bag in my previous post “Over Night Bag”. Except, I made it with left over fabric I’ve been saving from the Layette I made for Bella’s crib. I made the top of this one a little taller then the previous one. This way, I can pack a few more things in it!! You can never pack enough clothes for a 2 year old, especially when an outfit change is expected to be at least twice a day. 🙂
Good afternoon, I hope this friday has been good to you. I have finished making the last Annabelle bag, for the shop in Florida. Now I just have to come up with another bag design with three more purses and then I will be set!! I might just make three totally different purses so that there is more of a variety!
Well I hope you all have a very blessed, and absolutely wonderful day! I’m off to take a nap with my little one. 🙂 Nothing like cuddling together, on mommy’s big bed, for a nice long nap. Hee hee, yes I spoil her so much. But hey she’s gonna grow too fast and then I won’t get the chance to do this anymore.
Here she is…the next purse I was telling you about. My Mother-In-Law went to Italy last summer, and she was telling me that handbags, like this, are very popular. Fashion in Europe always takes about a year or two to make it to the USA. So, I figured I’d try and bring europe to the states, if that makes any sense. I’m going to be making another that looks identical, just with a big flower corsage on the front, made out of the lining fabric, instead of a big button. Let me know what you think of this one!
P.S. Over in Italy they sometimes would tie a little loop not in the top of the strap to shorten it.
Ok so I’m not sure if I told you this but, I have a serious obsession with tie dye. It doesn’t matter what kind it is, or what it’s on, I just love it. I remember being in high school year book class, and trying to convince the entire class to go with a tie dye cover for the year book. Lol, yeah, that didn’t go so well. They kept saying I was stuck in the 70’s, even though I wasn’t even born in the 70’s. 🙂
Anyway, a really good friend on mine, that I’ve know since age 5, also shares this obsession. So, as an I’m missing you/thinking of you gift, I made her a bag out of this awesome tie dye fabric I’ve been saving.
Aren’t the colors so beautiful and vibrant!!! Thankfully I have almost two more yards of this fabric left, so I will probably be making myself one also. Oh, and sorry the interior photo didn’t turn out better, the wind is blowing like something fierce today.
Ok so unfortunately adding the vinyl to the fabric for Bella’s backpack resulted in an epic fail. It made the fabric pretty much unmanageable, talk about a complete disappointment. 😦 Sadly this is all I was able to salvage from the monstrosity…
Anyways, since I am out of a black zipper and red piping, I now have to wait until I make my next trip to the fabric store until I can continue to work on her bag.
In the mean time, I finished yet another clutch. I was so upset at my failed attempt, that I could not sleep at all. So I figured since I couldn’t sleep, I’d make another clutch purse, at least this way I could go to sleep feeling as though I had accomplished something, even if I had stayed up until 3am doing so. And it came out just perfect!!
Sorry to end so abrupt like this, but my little birthday girl is waking up from her nap now. Talk to you all again soon.
